At Gary’s Bar & Restaurant, we serve Caribbean inspired dishes inspired by traditional ingredients and flavors from the Dominican Republic.
We are looking for a Head Chef to join our team. This hands-on management role is responsible for ensuring excellent food quality and consistency through training, education, creative direction, and kitchen oversight.
What we expect:
- 2+ years of high volume experience in management
- 2+ years Latin American/Caribbean cooking experience
- Ability to communicate well in English. Spanish speaking highly valued.
- Weekend and evening availability
- A positive attitude
- The desire to learn
- A curious and resilient approach to work
- Interest in utilizing financial information to meet team goals
- The ability to build relationships and share leadership among team members
- Effective communication skills with team members and Patrons.
- Confidence and good comunitations skills in from of a camera or news crew.
- Effective use of Social Media to showing pride in sharing your creations is a plus.
- Ability to provide direct, constructive real-time performance feedback
- Consistent recognition of positive contributions by fellow team members
- Management skills that contribute to accurate administration of the employment cycle
- A valid Driver’s License
- An ability to lift 50#
